Community Forest School

“Every child in every country is owed the teaching of natural history, to be introduced to the awe and wonder of the natural world, and to appreciate how it contributes to our lives.”

Enjoyed a lovely morning making stuffed chapatis. The whole experience of being in the woodlands was so calming and relaxing. The cooking session was great fun as you are able to learn new skills. Sunita is very patient and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!

Great forest school, so many different natural zones to play in. Both my kids enjoyed playing in all the different areas and getting mucky in themud kitchen! My eldest enjoyed participating in some of the activities such as bug hunting, drawing with charcoal and toasting marshmallows.

We attended a birthday, and we had the best time. So much for them to do and play with and we loved toasting the marshmallows!

My son loved every minute being here. He says he loved being able to cut the wood, that was his favourite part. He enjoyed the s’mores too! He did birdwatching and went for a walk too as he didn’t want to join in with the arts and crafts that was set out. My son said the woman were so nice and friendly, he felt really comfortable and happy. Thank you so much for giving him a day to remember.

We've absolutely loved the family Halloween woodland party - so much fun cooking bread over the fire and making s'mores, playing in the mud kitchen and generally enjoying the beautiful woodland surroundings! Avril and Sunita are brilliant, you can absolutely tell how much care, thought and work has gone into making it fun and safe for everyone to enjoy. Can't wait to come back!

My two sons & I have attended several sessions with ‘Out to the Woods’, including Woodland Tots & the Family woodland Halloween party. Avril & Sunita are so welcoming & brilliant with the children, offering a fun and safe outdoor environment. My boys loved playing in the mud kitchen and listening to the stories by the campfire. Cooking bread on the fire was a particular highlight! Would recommend this group to anyone with children- so nice to spend time outdoors learning about the woodland environment.

My little one had the best morning in the woods, he had just started walking that week and loved being able to freely explore around all of the activities as well as free play with good old sticks and stones. Will definitely return for more adventures.
