OTTW Fully Funded Woodland Activities

OTTW Fully Funded Woodland Activities Kent

A wonderful way to access and enjoy our woodland activities.

Evergreen Elders

Woodland Activities

Funded by KCC Dementia Friendly Seed fund, Lamborn and Hill and Kent AONB/Defra*

This session is for people living with dementia (early to mid-stages). Carers are most welcome, too. The experience can be truly rejuvenating! It is also for anyone retired (or over 55) who would like to spend more time enjoying the great outdoors.

You’re never too old to walk through the trees and enjoy dappled sunlight on your face, or listen to the call of birds through the forest. In fact, the experience can be rejuvenating. Spending time in nature is a great way to stay healthy and relax. You can bring a friend with you or take the opportunity to meet new people – or both!

Location

Admiral Woods is a wonderful setting to enjoy your time outdoors, and we look forward to making you welcome.

*Evergreen Elders funded by Defra will only take place at Admiral Woods so participants can learn about and enjoy the serenity of a woodland setting – 1 funded session per group.

Other locations

Due to accessibility and weather considerations we also offer sessions at local Age UK Day Centres and Milton Country Park. Wherever the session takes place, our aim is always the same: to help our visitors reconnect with nature.

Would you like to learn to cook tasty meals outside in nature?

  • Cooking in the woods has been made possible due to funding from the National Lottery.
  • We provide free cooking sessions to help teach people how to cook a cost-effective and nutritional meal using low-cost ingredients.
  • We will also show participants how to make their food go further by reducing waste and using leftovers to create another delicious meal.
  • Our project takes place in an ancient woodland setting.
  • We can all benefit from being connected with nature. When we take time to be outside our sense of wellbeing improves.
