Wilder Wellbeing

Join us in Milton Creek Country Park

We have been lucky enough to be awarded funding from Imago, to offer nature based sessions for anyone over 55 and is aimed primarily at reducing social isolation and loneliness.

The World Health organisation reports:

“High-quality social connections are essential to our mental and physical health and our well-being. Social isolation and loneliness are important, yet neglected, social determinants for people of all ages – including older people.

Social isolation and loneliness are widespread, with around 16% of people worldwide – one in six – experiencing loneliness. A large body of research shows that social isolation and loneliness have a serious impact on physical and mental health, quality of life, and longevity.”

Building connections is possible with the right policies and support in place. The WHO published a report in June 2025 entitled From loneliness to social connection – charting a path to healthier societies, and it outlines a number of strategies including using community spaces to build and develop social connection.

Out to the Woods CIC is pleased to be offering monthly nature connection sessions for over 55s to build social connections. We will also be running inter-generational sessions to bring different members of the community together.

These sessions will be run in and around Milton Creek Country Park https://miltoncreek.co.uk/
